A video posted on Valentine’s Day of a soldier’s casket being unloaded from a plane has gone viral, with more than 6 million views and more than 100,000 shares on Facebook.

The video, from the window of an unidentified airline, shows the casket being taken off the plane and greeted by several Green Berets at Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina.

The video, was taken by passenger Lisa West Williams, shows the wife of Fort Bragg Special Forces Warrant Officer 1 Shawn Thomas approaching the casket, touching it, and appearing to cry as she places her head on the flag-draped coffin.

She is then joined by several others before the casket is then lifted by the Green Berets and taken to a nearby hearse. Crying and sniffles can be heard in the background of Williams’ video.

Thomas died from non-combat injuries suffered during a vehicle accident in Niger earlier this month.

Thomas was 35 and leaves behind his wife and four children.

“It was an honor to fly home with this PATRIOT!” Williams wrote on her Facebook page. “God bless his wife and family. There was not a dry eye around me.” Headlines
